Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service ("terms") form a binding agreement between you and PunjabiClub ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using punjabi.club, PunjabiClub ID at auth.punjabi.club, punjabi.markets, punjabi.social, or any other PunjabiClub service (together, the "services"), you agree to these terms.

If you do not agree, do not use the services. Our Privacy Policy also applies and explains how we handle personal data.

2. Our services

PunjabiClub builds and operates software for Punjab and its diaspora. Today that includes:

• PunjabiClub ID — a single sign-in and account used across our projects.
• punjabi.markets — a marketplace where sellers list livestock and buyers contact them directly.
• punjabi.social — a community space to post, follow, and connect.
• punjabi.wiki — a community dictionary of words, idioms, proverbs, and affixes.

We may add, change, or discontinue services over time. Some services may be offered in beta or "as is" while we develop them, and may be less reliable or change without notice.

3. Eligibility and your account

• You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account and to buy or sell on punjabi.markets. Where local law sets a different age for valid consent to online services, you must meet it.
• You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date, and keep your credentials and authentication factors secure.
• You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been compromised.
• One person, one account, unless we agree otherwise. Do not impersonate others or create accounts to evade a suspension.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you create and upload — listings, photos, posts, messages, and profile details ("your content").

To operate the services, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of providing, securing, and improving the services. This licence ends when you delete your content or your account, except for copies retained in backups for a reasonable period or where we must keep them by law.

You confirm that:

• you own or have the necessary rights to everything you post, and it does not infringe anyone else's rights;
• your content is accurate to the best of your knowledge (for example, livestock listings describe real animals);
• your content does not violate these terms, any law, or the rights of others.

We are not obligated to monitor content, but we may review, remove, or restrict content that breaks these terms or the law. Entries you contribute to punjabi.wiki may be edited, merged, or declined by moderators to keep the dictionary accurate and consistent.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• break any applicable law or encourage others to do so;
• post unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, hateful, harassing, exploitative, or sexually explicit content;
• infringe intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of others;
• impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to the services, other accounts, or our systems, or probe, scan, or attack them;
• scrape, harvest, or bulk-collect data, or use automated tools against the services, except as permitted by law or by us in writing;
• distribute malware, spam, or deceptive links, or interfere with the normal operation of the services;
• use the services to sell prohibited, stolen, or protected animals or goods, or to facilitate any illegal transaction.

6. Marketplace terms (punjabi.markets)

punjabi.markets is a listing platform that helps buyers and sellers find each other. Important points:

• We are not a party to your deal. Any transaction is directly between the buyer and the seller. We do not own, inspect, transport, insure, or guarantee any animal or good, and we do not handle payments or act as an agent or escrow.
• You transact at your own risk. Verify the identity of the other party, inspect animals and goods, agree terms in writing, and take sensible safety precautions. Be cautious of advance-payment requests and off-platform deals.
• Follow animal and trade laws. Sellers and buyers are responsible for complying with all applicable laws — including animal welfare, transport, health, movement, licensing, tax, and local sale rules — and for any permits or documents required.
• List accurately and lawfully. Listings must be honest, must not include prohibited animals or items, and must not involve endangered or protected species.
• Your contact details are public. If you publish contact details in a listing, anyone can see them. Only share what you are comfortable sharing.
• We may remove listings that break these terms or the law, and may suspend sellers who repeatedly do so.

7. Community terms (punjabi.social)

• Treat others with respect. Disagreement is fine; harassment, threats, hate speech, and targeted abuse are not.
• Do not post content that is illegal, defamatory, misleading, or that violates others' privacy or rights.
• We may remove posts, restrict features, or suspend accounts that repeatedly or seriously break these terms.
• Use the report and block tools to tell us about problems; we review reports and act where appropriate.

8. Our intellectual property

The services — including our name, logos, site design, and software — are owned by PunjabiClub or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the services under these terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse engineer any part of the services except as allowed by law or with our written permission.

9. Third-party services and links

The services may include links to, or rely on, third-party sites and services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, terms, or privacy practices. Your use of a third-party service is governed by its own terms.

10. Suspension and termination

• You may stop using the services at any time and may delete your account through your account settings.
• We may suspend or terminate your access, remove content, or restrict features if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably believe your use poses a risk to other users, to us, or to the services. Where appropriate, we will try to give notice.
• If your account is terminated, the licence you granted us in your content ends as described in Your content, and provisions that by their nature should survive (such as disclaimers, liability limits, and governing law) will continue to apply.

11. Disclaimers

The services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant any user, listing, animal, good, transaction, or content found through the services.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any warranty or right that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PunjabiClub will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities, arising out of or relating to your use of the services — including any transaction, dealing, or dispute between users, or any animal or good bought, sold, or transported.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the relevant service in the twelve months before the claim, or INR 5,000.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PunjabiClub and its team from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the services, your transactions with other users, or your breach of these terms or of any law or third-party right.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as we add or change services or as the law changes. When we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the services or by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, stop using the services.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence, the courts of Punjab, India will have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these terms or the services.
